Breaking…

break (brk)

v. broke (brk), bro·ken (brkn), break·ing, breaks

1. To cause to separate into pieces suddenly or violently; smash.
It seems like during tense and desperate times we find that it is necessary for the break to be violent. Especially when you’re trying to walk closer to God and you have been pushing Him away consistently to the point of becoming numb to your need for Him. What we have come to see is that until we are broken we do not truly understand the freedom that we have in Christ, the love that we have to give and the light that we are called to shine.
“No matter where you are on the journey to the glorifying, liberated life in Christ, you are His treasure. He does not want to take from you. He wants to give to you and free you from any hindrance.” Beth Moore (A Quick Word from Beth Moore)
I am pretty sure that I know at least a handful of people who have been struggling with embracing the truth that we need to break free from our bondage so that we can grow and then impact others. I had to read this book called The 8th Habit by Stephen Covey that says that leadership in an organization is as simple as finding your own voice and then inspiring others to find theirs. The reality of it is that the devil is a liar and he convinces us that we should focus on those things that burden our heart because of our emotions and not because we’re called or convicted. If we listen to Satan’s lies we might hear…”God doesn’t care.” “You’re wasting your time.” “This is too hard, its much easier to just stay where you are.”
I have to admit that I have been extremely stubborn in the past 4 or so months because I have been focused on getting past my own obstacles and not focused on leading the people who I am suppose to lead, spend the time with God like I should, and have been arborin’ anger because of a weak relationship with my dad.
What else has been broken?
1. half way point til graduation. (49 days)
2. my stubborn will to not talk with the people I trust about my struggles.
3. my friends hearts have been broken.
4. the weather
Oh yeah – the weather is breaking into Cold!! The temperature has broken, people aren’t sweating, so grab a sweater or hoodie and roll on! :) I know Clair and I are stoked about this.
