Bethany’s Wedding

Posted: March 31, 2009 in General

It was fun seeing the Sitachittas this weekend in Greensboro, NC. I wish we kept in touch more often, but now that we’re all grown and living all spread out its harder as usual. Love BETHANY and she was GORGEOUS! Had a blast dancing with Kristopher Joe too! :) So glad I took the weekend to go!

Mission: Active Lifestyle

Posted: March 30, 2009 in General

So, some people just make you super irritable because they are in shape and healthy! Then others just appear to be in shape because they possess a body that looks good. And again there are the other crowd that are just completely out of shape! I fall into the latter category and I was telling someone today that I am not the one who needs to get BACK into shape – I’ve never been IN shape. What does this mean? It means I am on mission to live a more active lifestyle. What does this look like?

1. Spiritually, I want to spend more time CRYING out to God through reading His Word and prayer.

2. Mentally, I plan to allot time to deal with personal issues instead of letting them pile up.

3. Emotionally, there is a need to find more people I can turn to for advise and love. I hope to also put up a bigger guard on my emotions.

4. Physically, as of today I have started back exercising and trying to eat healthier. This might be the hardest (some days) of these areas, but I hope it will grow into a good habit.

So- this is the kick-off to the week and the missions on which I will be working towards these next couple of months.

Corey got married…

Posted: March 24, 2009 in General

On Saturday, March 21st, 2009 in Summerville, SC…

Corey and Becky tied the knot with a commitment to love and cherish one another for a lifetime. I am so excited for them and love both of them dearly! I am also kinda sad because Corey has always been my “other” half so to speak. We have been through the good, bad, and ugly together over the past 9 years! He is my brother and has loved me, protected me, and lead me closer to the Lord! I just have to publicly thank him for being a true gentleman that has loved me unconditionally!

Enjoy the pics..

Happy Birthday Lucky Lee Leprechan!

I’m not Irish, but I do have fun celebrating the Irish holiday. It just so happens to be my buddy Lee’s bday too! :) Did you know that the reason people wear the shamrock was because the three leaves represent the Father, Son and Holy Spirit? This was a holy day for the Catholics, but progressed into a secular holiday covered in GREEN! Lucky me, I caught me Irish!

Mission Monday! (on Tuesday)

Posted: March 10, 2009 in General

Sorry for the late posting on Mission Monday – we had a slight internet outage at the church!

So -  This week’s mission is to LOVE PEOPLE! We are in Baltimore working with the Church on Warren Avenue two blocks from the Inner Harbor area which is GORGEOUS! So not too hard to hang out here for a week! ;-) Unfortunately because we are human beings we tend to be selfish some times and lack that desire to really LOVE and SERVE all people. As a leader on the trip though it has been very encouraging to see the students DESIRE to go out into this community to leave a mark, an impact, a legacy for Christ! The groups have just been spending time with people around the church, Sharp Leadenhall Community and those hanging out at Federal Hill. Some of us might feel a little more less impacting since we’ve been stuck in the church cleaning, cooking and organizing! Yet we do know that these are NECESSARY things to keep the others working!

Writing just that would be easy because we have a planned mission trip requiring us to be a servant. For me personally though I am trying to keep my mind on serving my students so that they can serve the people here! As the leader, some times you have to lead by doing and other times you lead by preparing them to do!

Here are a couple of pictures from last night when we went to hang out on Federal Hill/Harbor:

Good Morning Baltimore!

Lots of driving, sleeping, eating and now roaming the Church on Warren Avenue. Check out more about our trip throughout the week at Clark Carter’s blog (http://csucampusminister.wordpress.com).

Simply Said Saturday

1 Corinthians 13:1-13 - Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

“Love Makes the World Go ‘Round” - by Bob Merrill (1961)

Love is any of a number of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection[1] and attachment. The word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure to intense interpersonal attraction. The word love is both a verb and a noun. Love is not a single feeling but an emotion built from two or more feelings. (Wikipedia)
