Today I had the privilege of being a part of an engagement for one of the girls who was a workstudy for me the last two years. It was a scavenger hunt based off of the Amazing Race television show. I went with Faith and Ashlyn to Mt. Pleasant, the Battery, James Island County Park and then back out to Mepkin Abby in Moncks Corner. It was fun and she enjoyed herself. At the end when walking up to the Gardens at Mepkin there was a group of friends and family who were there to cheer her on. There Tanner was at the bottom of the stairs to greet her and propose. It was a fun day but definitely trying to find our way without getting stuck.
All the while it was one of those quick moments that make you say…”Someday, Tam!” It is tough to watch so many friends go through the upsides of their relationships and come to such an exciting time as this and not be jealous that I have not had my opportunity! And the repetitive words of “your time is coming,” or “God has someone out there for you,” are not so comforting. So how do I push through and not allow those thoughts to rule out the obvious blessings and opportunities that the Lord has for me. I don’t know. I am battling this. Pray for me.
